Spring - a time of change, a time of transition, a time of new beginnings!

With the new season came changes in our studio too: We handed over our business at the end of March 2021.

After 42 years, we handed over our extensive professional expertise and the long-standing loyalty of our large international clientele to Johanna Baumgartner for reasons of age.

Johanna Baumgartner learned her trade with us and many of our customers have already met her. She will continue our work with the same great craftsmanship and sensitivity for art. We would like to thank you: our work has fulfilled us every day over the years, and our contact with you, with all the wonderful masterpieces that have passed through our hands, has always made us happy anew. By building bridges, we hope that you will continue to enjoy coming in and out of the Prendina frame studio.

About us:

Our framing studio in Basel, consisting of a workshop and store, was founded in 1978 by Ginette Prendina, a federally certified frame maker, and Apostolos Yanneas, a federally certified art teacher. In March 2021, the business was handed over to long-time employee Johanna Baumgartner. Together with her three employees, she continues the work with the same great craftsmanship and sensitivity for art.

Philosophy

In our work, we strive for elegance and respectful restraint towards the work of art. We see it as a creative challenge to place each individual object in an appropriate setting, in a finely balanced relationship: knowledgeably and with masterful craftsmanship - and with a great love of art.
