We offer a varied, seasonal and regional cuisine to suit all tastes. For example, we source our meat exclusively from Switzerland. We even order all other ingredients, drinks and ice cream from the region because sustainability is important to us.

Our restaurant is a popular meeting place before or after a walk in the zoo or along the meadow. Easily accessible by public or private transport, the restaurant is also known for its affordable, fresh and uncomplicated lunch menus.

Just as it is impossible to imagine Basel without the zoo as an institution, our restaurant is practically part of the "inventory" of Basel's population. Walkers, fishermen and business people, groups of senior citizens, families, carnival cliques and even travel groups meet here.
