The museum's collections have existed since 1885.

The collections document the development of shooting in Switzerland, in particular from the founding of the Swiss Shooting Club in 1824 to today's modern sport. They date back to 1885, when shooting clubs were an important part of social life. The museum's holdings include shooting trophies, historical documents and photographic material relating to shooting festivals and international competitions, as well as flags and special weapons. The objects tell the story of shooting personalities, living and past traditions and sporting achievements.
Visitors can test their own marksmanship on the air rifle range from 1952.

The museum will reopen in autumn 2025
