GARAGE SPORT LUGANO

The Garage Sport was founded in 1991 with the two Akbas brothers-Joseph graduated as a car mechanic and Michele as a sales apprentice. In the small facility in Viganello, with a small workshop, a small OPEL sales space and two apprentices, the brothers began to make their way in the world of automobiles.

In 1995, they opened a body shop in Piano la Stampa and in 1997 they also had roadside assistance, thus expanding their services to their customers. Year 1998; Opening Garage Sport in Pico Street: sales, workshop and body shop all combined in one location. So they decide to sell the body shop in Piano la Stampa and the Garage located in Via alla Chiesa 1. Working in the new location, along with the Akbas brothers are three people in administration, two mechanics and three in the body shop. Customers appreciate them for their professionalism and honesty but only one location is not enough to satisfy all needs; year 2005, they open the Cadempino location, with six employees. In 2007, they increase the choice of the vehicle fleet, in fact, in addition to the local Opel dealership, they also acquire the local Suzuki dealership.

Customers increase and the space available to them becomes tight, so in 2008 the new facility in Viganello in Via Alla Chiesa 2 was born, having to reluctantly give up the location in Via Pico. In 2009, in addition to adding the main agency of the Daihatsu brand, they took over the Amicar garage in Canobbio on May 1, acquiring the main agency of Opel for the Sottoceneri area. Nearly 20 years in the automotive industry allow them to boast respectable experience and expertise. Professionalism, passion are their strengths, which go hand in hand with the undisputed qualities of Opel, Suzuki, and since 2013 also Hyundai and Citroën automobiles.

Garage Sport, with its thirty professional, motivated and qualified employees, is able to offer sales, workshop and bodywork services throughout the Sottoceneri, thanks to its three locations located in: Viganello, Canobbio and Cadempino.

Since July 1, 2019, we have been official Kia agents at our Lugano Viganello location.
