Edmond Ramu, one of the family's innovative spirits, introduced and applied Guyot pruning on wire for the first time in Switzerland in 1925.
The Domaine also owes its very first rows of Gamay and Pinot Noir to him.
In 1955, Charles Ramu-Caccia, Claude's father, gave the estate its current dimension and enriched the grape varieties, planting Muscat, Aligoté, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer.

Claude Ramu gave the estate a new face.
In 1982, he renamed it Domaine du Centaure and had its new wines designed by painter Serge Diakonoff.
And just recently, Julien and Nicolas Ramu joined their father at the head of the estate.

Their vineyard extends over twenty hectares, partly on the famous Donzelle hillside and partly on the slopes overlooking the Château de Dardagny and the Rhône plain.
No fewer than 17 grape varieties are grown on this prestigious land.
They are harvested and vinified in the Ramu family's spirit of quality, whose wines have won generous medals and awards over the generations.
Today, the Domaine's cellar work combines ancestral know-how with contemporary creativity and technology.
The result is 25 crus: varietal wines, blends, natural or barrel-aged, simple and warm or sophisticated, passerillé or mutés.
