Spitex Grenchen – Contacts & Location
Description
Spitex Grenchen
Who are we?
Spitex means out-of-hospital and out-of-home health and nursing care and help in your home for people of all ages. Three quarters of all Spitex clients are over 65 years old, but of course we are also there for young people and people of working age. The Grenchen Spitex Association is one of the 600 non-profit Spitex organizations recognized by the Swiss Spitex Association. We are a non-profit organization with a public mandate and operate locally in the town of Grenchen.
What is our purpose? Our Spitex is available to all residents of the town of Grenchen, whether young or old. Thanks to our services, people can remain at home in their familiar surroundings despite personal limitations or return home earlier from an inpatient stay. The decisive factors are necessity and need in the event of illness, accident, disability, old age, convalescence, crisis and end-of-life care or maternity. The aim of Spitex is to maintain and promote the client's independence. Spitex tries to involve the client's environment in the care and assistance as far as possible. If more intensive care is required, Spitex employees rely on additional help from relatives, friends or neighbors.
How is our non-profit Spitex organized? The Grenchen Spitex Association is an association under private law at municipal level, consisting of a 7-member board and around 1,600 members. We are affiliated to the Spitex Association Canton Solothurn SVKS. In accordance with the existing service contract with the municipality of Grenchen, our task is to ensure the provision of needs-based nursing and home care services within the legal framework of outpatient preventive and curative healthcare and nursing care (Solothurn cantonal constitution, Article 100). Non-profit Spitex has limits to its activities where nursing and care at home is no longer responsible for professional, human or economic reasons. For example, if the safety of its clients or Spitex employees can no longer be guaranteed, if caring relatives are overwhelmed or if inpatient help is the more sensible solution.
What services do we offer and when? Our core services are
- Assessment, advice and nursing care (subject to health insurance)
- Advice on health issues, prevention and care
- Housekeeping (support in the household)
- Meal service
- Services complementary to partner organizations
