Greil Baugeschäft was founded in 1980 as a simple partnership by Hans Greil and his son. In 1986, Bruno Greil and Partner formed a public limited company. The simple partnership became Greil AG Baugeschäft. One year later, in 1987, the managing director Bruno Greil expanded the construction business with a carpentry business. The new synergies that now arose prompted the company to change its name once again to Greil AG Baugeschäft & Zimmerei, as it is still called today.
