Our practice mission statement
Our goal is to take time for you. We want to look after your pet(s) - be it dog, cat or, to a limited extent, pets (except birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish) - carefully and offer you good, up-to-date medicine. We can carry out most of the day-to-day preventive medicine, diagnostics and therapy here at the practice. For the remaining cases, we work together with specialists (including complementary physicians).
We always endeavor to keep up to date with the latest medical developments by means of literature and further training in order to be able to suggest the most suitable therapies and solutions to your problems.
Animal species
We mainly treat dogs and cats. Unfortunately, we only have limited facilities for small pets (mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits).
Reptiles, amphibians and fish require specialist training (zoo vet), which we are unfortunately unable to provide in our practice.

Consultation hours
We only hold consultation hours by telephone agreement (no emails). It is important to us that our customers only have to wait as short a time as possible. Therefore, please reserve your desired appointment early!
In emergencies, it is always possible that we may have to care for an animal in between and therefore ask for your understanding due to the possible extended waiting time.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify us 24 hours in advance so that you can avoid being charged for a missed consultation.
Home visits (only for our own customers)
We will be happy to visit you at home if you give us advance notice by telephone and if it is possible in our schedule. However, please bear in mind that the diagnostic and therapeutic options are severely limited. The travel costs for the home visit are calculated based on the distance to the practice.
Emergencies
Since 2011, we have been affiliated to the Veterinary Emergency Service Winterthur. The veterinary practice on duty can be reached outside our practice opening hours via the telephone number 0900 908 908 (Fr. 3.50/min.), namely...
- on Thursday afternoon (from 12 noon)
- overnight (18.00 - 22.00)
- at weekends, public holidays and bank holidays (8.00 - 22.00)
Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., please contact the Zurich Animal Hospital: Tel. 044 635 81 12
At midday, our answering machine will give you the number on which we can be reached.
Describe briefly what happened, when, how and what condition the animal is in (responsiveness, behavior, bleeding, wounds, etc.). This will enable us to give you tips for first aid over the phone.

Operations / anesthesia
If your pet needs an operation or anesthesia, you will be given an appointment early in the morning whenever possible. Your pet should be sober (no more food for 10 hours beforehand; water is permitted), cleaned up and delivered punctually at the agreed time.
Normally, you can usually collect your pet again on the same day between 4.00 and 6.00 pm. We keep our patients with us this long to ensure that they can wake up and be cared for without any problems during this time.
In any case, please leave a telephone number so that we can contact you if we have any queries.
When it's time to say goodbye...
We are also there for you at the end of your pet's life. If you wish, we can accompany / visit you at home and take care of all the preparations for any cremation.
Tariffs
We adhere to the usual regional tariffs, whereby according to WEKO (Competition Commission) NO agreements may be made between veterinarians. This results in different prices in the practice.
The VAT rate for services is 8%. Food and medication can be dispensed at the reduced rate of 2.5%.
Services and products are generally payable immediately:
- Cash payment
- By Maestro card (EC)
- By Postcard
- Only in exceptional cases by invoice (and with a surcharge), payable net immediately upon receipt!
- Deposit for complex treatments
