In 1902, schoolmaster Emil Pfander laid the foundation stone for a business premises by purchasing a plot of land near Zweisimmen railroad station. The business is now run by Gerhard and Christine Pfander in the third generation, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003 and provides eight to ten jobs, including three apprenticeships.

Today, Papeterie Pfander is a two-storey specialist retail store offering a wide and well-kept range of papetery, books and toys. In addition, the usually cheerful and helpful team offers a wide range of services to a large regular customer base, which can no longer be expected everywhere these days. Not everything always works out, but often!
