Mr. Mark Bertolini came to NDU from the Headquarters, Department of The Army, where he was a Department of the Army Civilian, serving as Chief of Staff of the G-33/Current Operations Division. In that position he led the staff responsible for oversight of the daily activities of the entire Army. Mr. Bertolini is a retired Army Colonel who served 30 years as a combat arms officer with command assignments at the battalion and brigade-level and combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr. Bertolini earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Washington & Lee University and holds a Master of Arts from Indiana University in Foreign Area Studies and is a distinguished graduate of the National War College with a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy.
