Inspired by the U.S.M.43, a radio microphone developed for the US Military that served in multiple conflicts including the two world wars, the USM43 was a part of the Aden-Arabia campaign and the Berlin airlift of WWI. The US military wanted a simple, unisex cap to protect them from glare and sun.
