The Nomex®/ Meta-Aramid hood we offer today is the industry standard when it comes to a professional firefighter's full-face protection needs. The outer shell is made from 100% Nomex® webbing, lining material that is made from Nomex® yarn, and the hood lining is made from Nomex® twill - a combination that provides maximum fire flow protection while enhancing heat and flame resistance at the same time. The inner layer of this two-layer hood is composed of 100% Nomex webbing that has an additional gusset for a contoured fit and provides greater overall durability. The face opening is serged with a generously wide band of Nomex, giving it the snug fit around a face mask that's especially important when firefighters don't have full face gear. The hood is sized down one size, so a 'customer" can wear this hood passed off as his own, and the hood fits snugly because of the generous extra gusseted construction. The bottom edge of the hood is bound with self-material bias binding, and the bottom edge of the hood is bound with self-material bias binding on each side of the gusset. Features of COBRA CLASSIC Fire Hood, 100% Nomex (Meta-Aramid):

• Outer shell and lining are 100% Nomex®/Meta-Aramid - approx. 7 oz sq yd.
• Composed of two layers throughout.
• For a contoured fit the hood is seamed from top of face opening to back of head.
• Face opening is circular in shape and serged with x-heavy duty 1/2" wide elastic around the perimeter. The elastic is then folded back 1/2" and cover stitched. The face opening stretches a full 16" (which is 25% more than conventional hoods) for easy donning and a snug fit around face of SCBA mask. Face opening maintains original shape after repeated launderings.
• The bottom edge of hood is bound with self-material bias binding.
• Gusset added at side seams to provide complete shoulder coverage and smoother drape.
• Each hood is clearly labeled to identify material contents, NFPA acceptance, UL Classification, Date of Manufacture, and Care Instructions. Included with each hood is a complete users information guide.
• MEETS OR EXCEEDS INDUSTRY STANDARDS:
• UL classified to meet or exceed NFPA 1971-Current Edition; Compliant with CAL-OSHA Sections 3406 and 3410(d) and OSHA Rule 29 CFR, Part 1910, 269.
