Optics Planet did not list the weight for this scope mount, so I contacted Sig Sauer directly, and they said it weighed 5.8 ounces.
When I got this thing and weighed it on my kitchen scale, it weighted 5.9 ounces, so, close enough.
And in answer to a question I posted about this mount, the thing is made out of 7075-T6 aluminum (not steel alloy as currently listed)
I wanted a cantilevered scope mounting that would be hefty enough to last, and not move around or break, but not be super heavy. There are lots of scope mounts that are lighter but I didn't trust those.
There are also scope mounts where the top half of the scope ring is angled for some reason, and those obviously have the potential for screwing up the alignment of the scope as you screw down the top half. This one has the traditional symmetrical hemispherical top halves to the rings.
Anyway, this is a pretty basic bread and butter no frills no gimmicks cantilever mount that fits 30mm barrel LVPO scopes well.
Yes, Koraynovich is out of business, and you can't get anything made in Russia anymore, but this my vintage Koraynovich AK-47 had been missing its cleaning rod since I first bought it in 2011, after I sent it straight back to them to fix a loose/rattling wooden forend. They sent it back, minus the iconic cleaning rod, and rather than mess with them again, I just decided to get an aftermarket cleaning rod. They should all be the same, right? Wrong. Over the years, I tried two other cleaning rods, and they didn't fit for various reasons mainly because they were too thick.
So, this one went right in, needing only a bit of Mobil 1 grease to get it all the way into the hole in the wood forend.
Looks like a complete AK-47 now.
Except for the Leapers UTG AK47 Combat Butt Pad RB-K7BTP01, which every genooine AK-47 buttstock needs if you don't want your shoulder to hurt from being impacted by that small thin metal plated buttstock.
