Sear box completes the cooking system
The Camp Chef smoker is fabulous. Adding the sear box finishes steaks, burgers, and dogs perfectly. Only able to finish about 6 burgers at a time but they hit the box for about 2-3 minutes so finishing the rest is quick.
Very happy with the addition to the smoker. Pricing is only down-side and available discount as an add-on to the smoker would be much preferred...
Perfect compliment to Camp Chef or Cabelas pellet grill
Perfect compliment to my pellet grill. Put a great high temperature sear to my meats that have been slow cooked with smoke. It can also be used to quickly cook meats. It is like having two separate grills.

Sear Box and Smoker Blanket
Camp Chef Sear box is just what the smoker needed to make it an all in one patio cooking device. Delivery was fantastic, Packaging was superb, 15 minutes to install and quality is outstanding. Although would not expect less from Camp chef which I think make some of the best products out there. I also bought a blanket for the smoker for those cold days. Both were shipped quickly by FedX and arrived on time. Thanks Optics Planet for providing great customer service.

Nice addition to my smoker
The sear box arrived and I had it attached and hooked up to my propane tank in less than an hour. I wasn't sure I really needed this burner when I ordered it but the reviews people gave it were the deciding factor to buy. Night of setup I was going to smoke hamburgers on my Camp Chef DLX and I wanted to sear them first. Turned the knob and the sear box fired right up. Trying to prevent a greasy clean up I used my cast iron flat pan on the burner (10"x12"). In a couple minutes the pan was really hot, I put the burgers on and the sizzle made me smile. I guess I could have cooked them right there and avoided the smoking step but the hickory flavor that would permeate the meat was what I was after. Needless to say the burgers were great. The searing step was easy and quick and gave the burgers that extra little crunchy surface. This searing box is a very worthwhile addition to any smoker. I'll be putting on rib-steaks tonight and smoking them after searing. Should I save you one?

- You do lose the shelf but the shelf attachment to the front of the Camp Chef can take its place
