Works great in a phase 5 rifle length hex tube. definitely quieter that a standard spring. Cycles 11.5-17" 5.56 and 8" 300 blk subs and supers perfectly. Makes a great "do all lower" buffer system.
Best Used for:
- Rifle length ar buffer tube

Put in an AR that runs hard and literally kills springs, after replacing the buffer spring a few times and having same result of working perfectly first time out shooting then all the sudden running super slow as the spring is dying. Decided to try the Geissele and went the extra mile of converting the buffer to rifle length with a BCM Mod 2 buffer tube and BCM T series buffer. Now it’s flawless have not had any problems since. If you are running a binary, FRT trigger or especially FA this spring is a must have. I actually purchased a back up Super 42 rifle length spring just in case but don’t think at this point I will ever need to use it. Geissele builds their parts like a tank. Could not be any happier!
Best Used for:
- High performance triggers

This product will work in a Ruger SFAR buffer tube. Must be Rifle length spring. Ruger SFAR uses a carbine buffer weight and proprietary buffer spring. You can use this spring for SFAR to slow down the bolt cycle. I used it to cure over gassing issue.

I put this in a 20inch Aero Precision M16A4 build with a fixed front gas block and a fixed rifle stock. I installed the buffer spring and kept the stock rifle buffer. When I took it to the range to zero, the rifle was very under-gassed. The rifle would extract the fired round but did not have enough gas to put another round in the chamber. The bolt went forward each time and would not lock back on last round. After every round (around 100 all together ), I would have to drop the mag, manually lock the bolt back, insert the mag and hit the release to chamber a new round. Needless to say, I went home and put the original buffer spring back in.

Needed to tune the recoil on my SFAR. This spring and new H1 buffer did just that. Caught everything on sale. Very happy with the results.

Geissele Super 42 is an amazing product. My action now is smooth as butter and reduced buffer noise considerably. Highly recommend and Optics Planet shipped fast.

While springco is great, Geissele buffer springs just come out on top (unless you need something very specifically tuned). Silent and consistent, not much else to ask for.
DOES FUNCTION IN A5 STYLE INTERMEDIATE LENGTH RECEIVER EXTENSIONS.

Though this spring is significantly more expensive than standard rifle length springs, it is worth it. I have my own line of ARs that I build for my business specifically to my specifications and this is the spring I use. It is very consistent, smooth, and reduces spring noise dramatically. Additionally, the price through opticsplanet is almost the same as dealer cost through RSR. The only difference is, opticsplanet always has them stocked and RSR is very hit or miss on stocked inventory. If you haven't tried the Super 42 series of springs yet, I highly recommend them!
Pros:
- smooth operation
- Consistent Longterm Performance
- Spring Noise Reduction

These springs are essential, so smooth and eliminate that twang you generally get from the ar platform. I run these in every rifle I have. Well worth it.
