Most Helpful Positive Review The Best Just Got Better
I grew up in the Optical Business as my Parents owned an Optical shop. Ironically, I never needed prescription glasses until after my parents had sold their business and retired. However, I had access to the best non-prescription sunglasses that money could buy, and over the years I tried many. I've worn Ray Bans-both the G-15 and the Green glass lenses, Nikon polarized, Oakley, Rodenstock Rodar (brown glass) AO Trucolor D, Porsche Carerra Polarized, Vuarnet, Suncloud......just about everything except Maui Jim's, which weren't available at the time. These are the best

by Fly Guy, from NE, United States Written on March 26, 2016
These lenses live up to their reputation. Definitely the best lenses for flight, driving and everyday use, and all around clear sight. My rx is for trifocals and Optics Planet nailed it the first time. Highly recommend them.

Serengeti Sunglasses

by Captain Fuzzy, from VA, United States Written on October 16, 2014
As an airline pilot I've had the opportunity to test fly many different sunglasses and compare notes with my co-pilots. Serengetis are unquestionable the best. The reduction of glare, increased visibility due to eliminating the haze due to the blue blocking tint while not just blackening everything out so that you can't see in low light is exactly what I want. The progressive lens in these is perfect for being able to see up close, intermediate for the instruments and scan for traffic in the distance. These are light and comfortable. Home run!
Pros:
  • Cut glare
  • Reduce squinting
  • increase contrast and definition
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • aviation, driving
