Is this item also called a hand guard and will it work on a norinco Ak 47? Expert Answer

These Samson K-Rail Model for the AK-47 Rails/Handguards will only fit your Norinco AK47 if you modify them to fit. You would need to use the AK47 model handguards but they will need to be modified since they are designed for a 1mm receiver opposed to the 1.6mm receiver on Norinco AK rifles.

I think within last couple years light weight is the answer. These tend to be on the hefty side, however very high quality and probably weight is due to full length Picatinny. If can get a machinist help may try to turn these into a one off option.

Samson K-Rail Models give you four mounting rails for mounting rifle scopes, weapon lights, laser sights, and any other shooting accessories you need. A model of Samson K-Rail is available to fit the AK-47, Krinkov M 92 and Bulgarian Krinkov. SAMSON K Rail Model 1 fits most AK-47M 's. K-Rail Model 2 by Samson fits most Krinkovs, and Samson K-Rail Model III is for Bulgarian Krinkov model. The two piece design of this Samson Tactical Accessory clamps to the barrel trunion area. Low upper rail with clearance slot for use of iron sight. Four 1913 mil spec mounting rails for all popular lights and mounting accessories. Lower rail cut out for underfolder stock. This Samson rail system includes side clearance for a side-folding stock.image
