About the project

The Challenge

Education at the school was hampered by inadequate educational infrastructure. Being in a harsh climate, students were distracted by hot weather and strong winds which made the school environment unconducive for learning.

The Intervention

Two classrooms at a cost of KES 2.2 million were constructed by Safaricom Foundation.

The Impact

The students are shielded from harsh weather elements with the classrooms offering protection with roofing and walls.

The classes have provided the platform through which the school can look forward to turning around their academic fortunes.  Being in a fairly marginalized area, a boost in academic performances is expected to impact positively on the community around.
