About the project

The Challenge

Jacaranda Special School is located in Lavington, Nairobi County. The school caters for the physically and mentally challenged pupils. The school had no adequate facilities to accommodate the growing number of pupils.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation funded the purchase of dormitory furniture for the pupils in the school at total cost of Ksh.600, 000 to help ease the challenge of accommodation in the school. It donated beds, chairs and lockers to the school.

The Impact

Following the intervention from Safaricom Foundation, the school has been able to fully accommodate the pupils with ease. The beds have helped to provide extra sleeping space for the pupils who would have otherwise shared a bed.
