About the project

The Challenge

The classrooms had leaking roofs which forced students out of class whenever it rained. Due to the regular rainfall, pupils were forced study in the school hall which was small, leading to congestion. The pupils also lacked enough desks and chairs.

The Intervention

Safaricom Foundation, through the Pamoja Scheme, renovated 3 classrooms, donated books, 30 desks and chairs and wall charts at a cost of KES 800,000.

The Impact

The renovations have ensured that pupils learn smoothly through all seasons. They have a conducive learning environment with the desks and chairs available for them. The books and wall charts have also enhanced their performance.
