TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Nerijus Kriauciunas
The aim of the ATOQ is to support youth workers/leaders in increasing the quality of the European youth exchanges they set up within the Erasmus + Youth Programme.
The ATOQ training course provides the participants with opportunities to:
> Critically reflect upon their previous international youth exchange experience(s) and the impact on young people, organisations and wider community
> Increase the understanding of different quality aspects of youth exchanges such as: active participation of young people, cooperation with partners, intercultural learning, impact and results; programme building.
> Experience a non-formal learning process and understand how to support young people's learning process in the project;
> Improve their project management competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) in order to better organise the different phases of a youth exchange.
17 participants took part in this course, coming from 9 different countries.
The large majority of the participants that did attend were committed and fitted very well in the profile requested by the course. It was an active group, very punctual and participative. All participants had some experience with Youth Exchanges and the different experience levels between them were also an asset, which both team and participants appreciated.
ATOQ is built on the past experiences of participants and is interspersed with workshops, info-sessions, activities to improve group dynamics and ends with an evaluation.
The understanding of youth and partners’ involvement in youth exchanges are a good example of participants’ learning curve, with more than 70% of participants expressing an increase of more than 80% in terms of their development in regard to these topics during ATOQ.
