TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Esther Vallado
Our aim was to prepare youth workers to inform, inspire, motivate and engage young people in environmental active citizenship.
More specific objectives of the training were:
•to explore the connection between youth work and global environmental issues;
•to provide youth workers with tools and resources for stimulating the active involvement of young people in environmental issues;
•to experience nature-based methodologies which can be used for raising environmental awareness among young people;
•to develop practical skills to inspire young people’s environmental active citizenship;
•to support participants in transferring to their realities the experiences lived during the training course.
Target group: youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, youth project managers, volunteering mentors interested in learning how to increase young people's involvement in environmental active citizenship.
Countries involved: Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme countries
We used non-formal learning methods, such as nature-based activities, storytelling, creativity, peer work, reflection groups…
Participants received tools and resources for stimulating the active involvement of young people in environmental issues; they experienced nature-based methodologies which they can use for raising environmental awareness among young people; and they developed practical skills to inspire young people’s environmental active citizenship.
I was the main trainer, as well as the project developer and coordinator.
