All our students are well supported by world-leading academic supervisors, along with the Queen Mary's Doctoral College and dedicated Directors of Graduate Studies in each School. Additional studentships for underrepresented groups
For 2025/26 entry, the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Doctoral College will be offering six fully-funded doctoral studentships (tuition fees and stipend at the UKRI London rate) specifically to UK applicants underrepresented groups in research with priority this round to Black, Black British, Caribbean, or African candidates (but can be extended to those with protected characteristics or discipline specific underrepresentation).

Externally Match-funded PhD Studentships
The Faculty of Science and Engineering at QMUL is pleased to offer a suite of opportunities for industry/3rd sector-academic collaboration to support PhD studentships. The level of support depends on the IP/licensing arrangements, type of partner and the level of commitment.
