GDP per person fell by around 0.6 percent in 2023, after growing by 3.9 percent in 2022. In 2020, gross domestic product per capita shrank by a record 10.4 percent in the United Kingdom, before growing by 8.2 percent in 2021. Before 2021, the highest year-on-year increase was recorded in 1973 when GDP per person grew by 6.3 percent.
