Get in touch with us nowThe Italian education system is divided into: nursery, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and high school. Compulsory education in Italy begins at the age of six in elementary school and lasts until 16 years old, when students normally attend the second year of high school. Children usually study in elementary school for five years, before attending middle school for three years and then high school. High schools can relate to different forms of education: licei, i.e., general upper secondary schools, technical, or vocational schools. Instead of high school, students can also choose to attend regional vocational training, which last for four years.
