In 2022, just over 590 thousand hectares planted with cocoa were harvested in Brazil, down from around 601 thousand hectares harvested in the previous year. In 2018, the South American country had reported the lowest harvested area of cocoa since 2013. However, this decrease in harvested area is contrasted by one of the largest yields of cocoa harvested in Brazil registered in the period.
