A survey conducted in Italy in 2020 revealed that female consumers paid attention to food ingredients more than male consumers used to do. In fact, 74 percent of Italian female respondents stated they carefully read ingredients reported on food packaging, while only 63 percent of male interviewees did the same. Likewise, 51 percent of Italian women paid attention to nutritional facts, while only 42 percent had the same behavior.
