In 2020, the highest share of child stunting in the Middle East was in Yemen at 37.2 percent, followed by Syria at 29.6 percent. The malnutrition indicators of stunting, wasting, and underweight for children are worse in countries with conflict, and countries with lower levels of rural transformation. Stunting and wasting in the Middle East and North Africa is higher than the world standards.
