In a survey conducted in May, 2020 during the month of Ramadan, 68 percent of respondents believed that the COVID-19 pandemic will permanently change how they live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This share dropped to 62 percent in July after Ramadan. Approximately 90 percent of respondents in the UAE and Saudi Arabia decreased their spending to prioritize needs over wants after the economic pressures of the pandemic.

Sample was distribution as follows: 1,490 KSA respondents and 1,230 UAE respondent.
The month of Ramadan was from 23 April to 23 May.
The survey question was as follows: “To what extent do you agree with each of the following statements? The virus will permanently change how I live.""
