Hong Kong: most popular museums by attendance 2021

In 2021, the Hong Kong Science Museum became the most popular museum in Hong Kong, with around 1.08 million attendances recorded. The Hong Kong Museum of Art took the second spot with around 620,000 visits, followed by the Hong Kong Space Museum.

With effect from 1 August 2016, all visitors can enjoy free admission to the permanent exhibitions of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence and Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum. The permanent exhibitions of the Hong Kong Science Museum and Hong Kong Space Museum are also open to full-time students free of charge.
