In 2021, 56 percent of Black respondents to a survey in the United States reported their ability to afford the cost of a telehealth visit was an obstacle they faced when attempting to use the technology. In comparison, 45 percent of Hispanic and 35 percent of White respondents faced the same obstacle around the use of telehealth. In general, a larger share of Hispanic and Black respondents faced obstacles surrounding the use of telehealth.
