In Germany, some of the segments of the civil engineering sector with the highest turnover in 2022 were road construction, and the construction of utility projects for fluids. The turnover of road construction amounted to 16.5 billion euros, which is over four times higher than the turnover of the railway construction segment. Hydraulic engineering, which refers to the construction of waterways, harbors, and other projects, generated the smallest turnover at 540 million euros.
