On June 6, 2022 Boris Johnson survived a vote of confidence against his leadership from within his own political party, the Conservatives. According to the results of the ballot, 59 percent of Conservative MPs (Members of Parliament) backed Johnson, compared with 41 percent who voted against his leadership.
