In 2022 and 2023, nearly six in 10 surveyed consumers in the United Kingdom (UK) said making it more affordable to pick sustainable alternatives would make them more likely to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Although a slightly smaller share (53 percent) of consumers thought affordability would help them adopt a more sustainable lifestyle in 2024, the price tag that typically comes with living more sustainably was still the leading reason why UK consumers had not adopted a more eco-friendly lifestyle that year.
