In 2023, about 144.1 out of 10 thousand individuals in Italy were treated for some kind of mental health disorder in local mental health facilities (Centro di Salute Mentale - CSM). This statistic breaks down this figure by diagnosis. The most common mental health disorders detected among the Italian population were depression, schizophrenia, and psychoses. The diagnosis-related groups registering the lowest prevalence were instead the ones referring to intellectual disability, dementia, alcoholism, and drug addiction.
