Amongst online shoppers from all 18 countries included in a 2022 study, 33 percent of respondents believed that the leading marketplace in their region provided the best environmentally friendly options when compared to other online purchasing channels. Other online marketplaces, as well as online retailers, were second, with 11 percent of respondents believing each of these channels to offer the best environmentally friendly options. However, it was notable that almost a quarter of respondents (24 percent) believed none of the major online purchasing channels provided any significantly environmentally friendly options.

The study was conducted in the following 18 countries:
- Europe: United Kingdom, Spain, France, Netherlands, Germany.
- APAC: China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, India.
- LATAM: Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia.
- USA.
- UAE.
- South Africa.
