Carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions are projected to reduce annually with the introduction of more renewable energy in Russia. More specifically, CO₂ emissions in the country are forecast to decline by nine million metric tons in 2024 from the volume recorded in 2014. In total, between 2014 and 2035, they are expected to decrease by 20 million metric tons. According to government plans, renewables are to account for around eight percent of the total energy capacity installed in Russia in 2035.
