During the financial year 2024, Reliance Jamnagar SEZ in the Kandla zone led other SEZs in India in terms of imports of goods valuing at around 20 billion U.S. dollars. It was followed by J. Matadee Chennai Free Trade Zone. SEZs are geographical areas demarcated to attract foreign investments and propel economic activity, with better infrastructural support from central and state governments.
