In the U.S., a significant shift in television subscription was revealed from 2016 to 2024. MVPDs had a steady decline, with subscribers dropping from 99.2 million to an estimated 55.3 million. On the other hand, vMVPD platforms experienced a substantial growth, surging from one million to over 17 million during the same period. These changes reflect the preference for internet-delivered entertainment, supplanting traditional cable.
