Voluntary carbon market (VCM) credit prices in North America averaged 5.68 U.S. dollars per metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2023, a year-on-year decline of 51 percent. This was the largest annual reduction in credit prices that year. Meanwhile, the average VCM credit price in Europe grew 78 percent y-o-y, to 24.57 U.S. dollars per metric ton.
