As of the second quarter of 2024, Morocco's GDP from mining stood at 6.2 billion Moroccan dirhams, some 618.6 million U.S. dollars. During the period observed, the GDP from mining reached a peak in the fourth quarter of 2023 at almost seven billion Moroccan dirhams, around 698.4 million U.S. dollars. This peak followed a drop in the first quarter of the same year, when the value fell to 5.1 billion Moroccan dirhams (approximately 509 million U.S. dollars), mostly due to a decrease in phosphate sales.
