In 2023, the average gender equality index (GEI) score of Saudis in the labor force who were subject to social insurance regulations was about 0.65 percent, heavily favoring men. Although this score was still much higher than the GEI amongst non-Saudi workers at 0.05. Amongst Saudi nationals, gender equality was relatively most equitable amongst clerical workers and working professionals, with a score of 1.09 and 0.95, respectively.
