According to a 2019 survey among residents in England, 32 percent of respondents disagreed with the statement that plane ticket prices should reflect the environmental damage that flying causes. By comparison, in 2006, this share was only 24 percent.

Until 2017, questions regarding transportation and climate change were asked as part of the British Social Attitudes (BSA) survey and included respondents from the whole of Great Britain. From 2019 onwards, questions were asked as part of the National Travel Attitudes Study (NTAS) for respondents from England. Figures from previous years were adjusted to reflect answers from English respondents.
