The number of enterprises in the wholesale and retail trade industry incl. repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles in France increased by 14,496 enterprises (+2.03 percent) in 2022 in comparison to the previous year. While the growth in this industry is slowing down, with 729,138 enterprises, the number of enterprises is at its peak in the observed period.
In accordance with EU REGULATION (EC) No 250/2009 only companies are included here which were active during at least a part of the reference period. It also includes local units (branches) which do not constitute a separate legal entity and which are dependent on foreign enterprises.
