In 2023, international tourist spending in the United Kingdom was 2.3 percent lower than in 2019, the year prior to the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, the expenditure by inbound travelers in the UK amounted to 40.1 billion British pounds in 2023, however, it was estimated that spending would rise to around 44 billion British pounds by 2024.
