The volume of active postpaid SIM cards in Belgium increased steadily between 2014 and 2023, while the volume of active prepaid SIM cards declined over the same period. At the beginning of the nine year period, there were roughly three thousand more active postpaid than prepaid SIM cards in circulation. In 2023, there were roughly six times as much active postpaid SIM cards as prepaid cards.
