As of 2023, a total of approximately 804,000 new bicycles were sold in the Netherlands, with sales dropping for the third year in a row. Electric bicycles contributed most to the total sales volume, with roughly 453,000 new bikes. They were followed by city bicycles, which contributed some 180,000 sales to the total.
