In 2023, the total flight time of all airlines in China was around 12.2 million hours. Among the airline groups, China Eastern Air Holding Group and China Southern Air Holding Group had 2.35 million and 2.84 million flight hours respectively. The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent travel restrictions affected the performance of China's aviation industry substantially between 2020 and 2022.
