According to a global study of art dealers, political and economic volatility ranked as the main challenge in 2023/2024, as indicated by 36 percent of the sample. Maintaining relationships with collectors followed in the list that year. While 22 percent of surveyed art dealers mentioned that widening the geographical reach was among the biggest concerns in 2023/2024, this share rose to 31 percent when asked about the next five years.

¹ Data refer to an annual study including an online survey distributed to the memberships of some of the main dealer association worldwide (such as CINOA, ADAA, CPGA, SLAD, FEAGA) and national associations. In addition, Art Basel directly distributed a survey to individual galleries that participated in their shows in Basel, Miami Beach, Paris, and Hong Kong.
