UNICEF in Serbia and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia have begun preparations for the implementation of the seventh cycle of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS). The seventh cycle of MICS in Serbia, including field implementation, will be conducted during 2025.
The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia is organizing the conference "Synergy of Statistics and Science - A New Dimension of the Census Data" in Zlatibor from 11 to 14 March 2025.
The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January 2025 amounted to:
- USD 5356.0 million - which was an increase of 0.6% compared to the same period last year;
- EUR 5182.9 million - which was an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period last year.
In January 2025, the number of 1 526 building permits was issued, presenting the decrease of 5.5% when compared to January 2024. Out of the total number of permits issued in January 2025, 81.9% related to buildings, and 18.1% to civil engineering constructions. When only buildings are concerned, 79.8% of permits related to residential buildings, and 20.2% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (68.8%).
Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in February 2025 in relation to January 2025 increased by 0.5% on average.
The total number of passenger road motor vehicles that entered the Republic of Serbia in the fourth quarter 2024 increased by 12.0%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of vehicles registered in our country increased by 32.2%, while the number of vehicles registered abroad increased by 0.3%. Among foreign vehicles, the largest number was registered in Romania, 6.1%, Germany, 5.8%, and Hungary, 4.4%.
From the total number of first-time registered road motor vehicles and trailers during the fourth quarter of 2024, produced in 2024, in relation to the total number of registered vehicles, the most represented were mopeds (76.4%), while the number of new agricultural tractors was the smallest (11.7%).
According to the preliminary data, operating income in non-financial business economy in the Republic of Serbia in the fourth quarter of 2024 increased by 6.3 % relative to the same period of the previous year, while compared to the third quarter of 2024, the increase of 9.2% was noted. In the Information and Communication Sector, operating income were increased by 11.6% relative to the same period of the previous year, while compared to the third quarter of 2024, the increase of 25.5% was noted.
